Renew Your Mind to Get Better Results!

We’ve been teaching on “Renewing of the Mind” here at FFCC for some time. It’s simply an inexhaustible topic! Paul admonishes us in Romans 12:2-

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

That’s a full statement! This verse is telling us that we should not be like “the world”, that is,  people who don’t know God.  But we should rather be transformed from that old way of being and existing (like an unbeliever does.)  I don’t know about you, but I NEVER want to go back to that life. It was cold, confusing and dark. I didn’t know what would happen to me or my family from one moment to the next. I was ruled by emotions and external circumstances that inevitably lead me to failure each time. Talk about being defeated! Thank God for a better way!

If we working on changing our minds to the reality of God’s way of doing things, then we can walk out the good plans he has in store for us. Remember, God can save us, but we have to do the work of renewing our minds! That means we must read our Bible and understand what old, harmful  thought patterns God is trying to remove from our mind. What he tells us to do will be different than anything we’ve done before. But when we comply, we’ll walk in victory in every situation and every time!
