Englewood Prayer Confession- Public Officials
Monday
Father, your word says that when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice. So we thank you that you are setting the righteous in authority in every position and post that directly affects the City of Chicago and the neighborhood of Englewood . You are the God that appoints and uproots leaders so we confess that you are placing the right people in the right positions of public service this day. We declare that government officials would be surrounded by wise and Godly counsel to help them accomplish good for their constituents. We confess that you are speaking to their hearts through anointed laborers that bring the Gospel to their attention, so that they will be saved and fully committed to serving in their position according to your ways. Each official is motivated by executing justice for all of the people they serve; according to Isaiah 1:17, they “Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless (and) plead for the widow.” We declare that their hearts are set towards your agenda for the community and not their own.

We call forth leaders who have the qualities recommended for leadership positions according to I Timothy 3. We declare that our public servants are blameless, married and faithful to one wife (or husband), vigilant, sober, well-behaved, given to hospitality, able to teach and are patient. These men and women are not given to wine (nor any other addictive behaviors) neither are they quarrelsome, greedy or given to lust after worldly things. They have control over their own house with their family of one heart and on one accord. They are experienced in leadership so they are not tempted to be prideful or succumb to satanic condemnation. We declare they all have good report with the people of the community and others who help them accomplish the work they’ve been appointed to do.

We thank you, Father, for anointed, saved, Holy Spirit-filled, divinely appointed public servants for Englewood and surrounding communities in Chicago. In Jesus name, Amen!
